Ron Eiserman tells the story about the three drunks discussing the most important thing in life.
"Gold and silver," two of the men said.
"The male crocodile," ole' Red-Eye Jones slobbered.
"Whazzatmean?" his partners asked.
In his best of sober language, Red-Eye said the female crocodile slinks along in water, crawls upon the ground and lays 1,000 eggs.
"So whash?" his impatient friends said.
"Well then along comes the male crocodile slinking in the water and HE crawls up on the ground, finds the nest and eats 999 of the eggs."
"So whash does thash mean?" the boys wanted to know.
"Simple," Red-Eye says, "if it washn't for the male crocodile, we'd be up to our hips in crocodiles."
Up on the North 40.
We've been thinking of building a dam across the Freeman krik' and build our own power supply so's we won't be faced with any more of that poopy-doopy blackout stuff.
Really wanted to "dam up" the Missouri river but Col. Ben Ryan says he don't cotton to none of that thar' stuff.
I always said if I was going to take over this country I sure wouldn't do it by force . . . instead I'd simply shut off the gas during January.
As a result of the recent havoc because of the blackout, mebbe it'd be more simple to pull a plug on the juice.
Virgil Pitstick got the jump on the legislature and just about everyone else with his chin whiskers.
Virg is getting ready for the 1967 Centennial.
Many Nebraska Citians who grew the beards for the City Centennial in 1954 may think twice before letting 'em grow out again . . . if they don't mebbe their Missus will think for 'em.
Played nine holes of golf at Steinhart park the other Sunday with Bob Toler.
Felt kinda lonesome out thar until we met up with Fred Oetgen, Bill Witty and Don Holtz.
I like playing golf in the winter much better . . . I can drive over the lake . . . if it's frozen.
Bill Thurman doesn't miss much golf during the winter months and he sure doesn't miss out on skiing.
Don Pickering, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Pickering, and I used to ski on North Sixth and in the Riverview park area. Bill does his skiing in the Goose Hill area. As an authority on skiing, I can report there's no sensation like skiing on your back down a hill.
