If your street has not been cleared of snow up to the curbs, then it may be because the city's snow removal equipment couldn't get through the street because of parked cars.
City Street Commissioner Ervin Rogers said cars will be towed away in certain areas when the snow removal is in full swing.
But it appears that in the residential areas, if you don't get your car off the street, then expect it to be buried in a fence of snow and result in a zig-zag path through the street.
State Highway crews handle snow removal in a similar manner. They just bury cars that are parked along the highways.
I couldn't help but laugh and really expect to hear a rib from Jack "Rip" Andersen, former N-P sports man who is now with the Lincoln Journal-Star, after attending the "closed" meeting of news people at Lincoln where Senator Carpenter was the speaker.
I remember quite clearly when sports writers organized a club and elected officers, but withheld the election until a "news release" was sent out. Jack took quite a kidding because news people were handing out "releases," so he probably will give me the blazes soon.
Mason L. Colbert, that thoughtful gentleman who displays two Boxer dog decorations on the fenders of his car, has taken heed to the cold weather and has put sweaters on both animals.
Understand also that Mason's train that operates on the top of his car rack may be discontinued without any objection from the city or Chamber of Commerce. Maybe Mason should check with the Ben Ryan Southern line to see how Mr. Ryan can continue operation of his rail service at Leftwich River Terminals with limited passenger use.
Mrs. Maribeth Sall, Otoe county Home Extension agent at Syracuse, will leave her job July 1 after her husband Rex, graduates from the University.
